Choptank Health Welcomes New Behavioral Health Clinicians to Mid-Shore Care Teams
Choptank Community Health System has recently welcomed licensed certified social worker-clinical Carly Boughner, LCSW-C, and licensed clinical professional counselor Amy Piccaluga, LCPC, to its behavioral health team serving Maryland’s Mid-Shore communities. Carly Boughner, LCSW-C, has joined Choptank Health’s behavioral health team and will provide services at the organization’s Chestertown Health Center and through telehealth appointments.
Boughner provides behavioral health services at Choptank Health’s Chestertown Health Center and for all Choptank Health patients through telehealth appointments. She brings experience in outpatient mental health therapy, medical social services, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
Boughner most recently served as an outpatient mental health therapist with Community Behavioral Health in Centreville, where she conducted psychosocial assessments, provided counseling and crisis intervention services, and collaborated with schools, families, and health care teams to support patient-centered care.
Her previous experience includes serving as a medical social services coordinator with ProMedica Potomac Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she managed complex patient caseloads, facilitated discharge planning, and supported patients and families through behavioral health and long-term care needs.
Boughner earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is licensed in Maryland as a licensed certified social worker-clinical.
Amy Piccaluga, LCPC, has joined Choptank Health’s behavioral health team and will provide services in Chestertown and Goldsboro, as well as via telehealth appointments.
Piccaluga provides behavioral health services at Choptank Health’s Chestertown and Goldsboro Health Centers, and for all Choptank Health patients through telehealth appointments. She brings extensive experience in outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, inpatient mental health care, and behavioral health program leadership.
Piccaluga’s experience includes providing inpatient mental health services with the University of Maryland Medical System in Easton and serving as clinic director and outpatient therapist for Pathways, Inc., where she supervised staff, coordinated behavioral health services, and provided individual, family, and group therapy services.
Her additional experience includes school-based and day treatment behavioral health services for children and youth, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed counseling. She is trained in EMDR and evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
Piccaluga earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, along with undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from Washington College in Chestertown. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor.
