Choptank Health Welcomes Bay Hundred Dental Hygienist

Choptank Community Health System is expanding its dental care team by adding dental hygienist Lauren B. Williamson to its Bay Hundred Dental Center in St. Michaels, Md.

Lauren B. Williamson has joined Choptank Community Health System’s Bay Hundred Dental Center in St. Michaels as a dental hygienist.

Williamson brings experience supporting dental hygiene services, preparing patients’ treatment spaces, and maintaining infection prevention practices. A graduate of North Caroline High School, she returns to the Mid-Shore after completing her dental hygiene education at Allegany College of Maryland.

“Preventive dental care plays an essential role in overall health,” said Sara Rich, president and CEO of Choptank Community Health System. “Lauren’s addition supports our work to help more patients receive care and build healthy habits that last.”

Williamson earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Allegany College of Maryland in May 2026. She also holds an Associate of Arts degree in general studies with an allied health focus from Chesapeake College, where she began taking college courses while attending high school.

She passed the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and the ADEX clinical and computer-based examinations in 2026. Her certifications include local anesthesia and nitrous oxide in Maryland, along with CPR, automated external defibrillator use, and first aid.

Before attending dental hygiene school, Williamson worked as a dental hygiene assistant and sterilization technician at Eastern Shore Dental Care in Chester. Her responsibilities included assisting hygienists during appointments, preparing treatment rooms, supporting patient referrals, and sterilizing instruments.

“Lauren understands the Eastern Shore and brings a strong foundation in patient service and dental care,” Rich said. “We are pleased to welcome her to our team as we continue making comprehensive care more accessible across our communities.”

Choptank Community Health System provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based health services throughout Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties, serving nearly 35,000 adults and children across Maryland’s Mid-Shore. New patients are welcome in all locations. For more information, visit www.ChoptankHealth.org.
